  11. Thanks to the help of some people here on the net, about three months 
  12. ago, I tried installing a 210M IBM 2.5" drive into my 1200.
  13.  
  14. It didn't work. Later tried the drive in my PC, which didn't work 
  15. either... (Though I've never had any luck with it...)

  17. So I sent the drive back, and they sent a replacement in, which is doing 
  18. the same thing, so I now know it isn't the drive.

  20. What the drive does is this:

  22. If I use the Install disk, everything runs correctly. The drive formats, 
  23. and I can move files around on the drives, run files from them, etc...

  25. But upon next reboot, whether it is a soft restart, or a hard (power 
  26. lost) restart, the hard drive vanishes... With no trace.

  28. Now, the motherboard KNOWS the drive is there, as I can watch the hard 
  29. drive being "pinged" as it runs through the booting process.

  31. I thought maybe the drive wasn't set to be bootable, but checking with 
  32. the HDToolBox, it indeed was (though for some reason HDToolBox only 
  33. listed options for SCSI and XT drives... Though 1200's use IDE. Go fig.)

  35. I'd be happy if I just needed a disk to bootstrap Workbench onto the Hard 
  36. Drive (IE The Amiga equivalent of Mount, or the Mac's SCSIProbe).

  38. Any help would be greatly appreciated... As the 210M drive is in it, but 
  39. I can't do anything on it. Ugh...

  41. And reinstalling Workbench everytime I want to use the Hard Drive is a 
  42. bit on the crazy side! (Or reformatting the drive for that matter...)
